Slayer will play Melbourne Soundwave

Slayer pulled out of their Sydney Soundwave set last night just minutes before they were set to go on stage but festival organiser AJ Maddah has confirmed the band will play the Melbourne Soundwave Festival. The band announced today that Slayer Singer Tom Araya was forced to cancel the gig when he was admitted to hospital with an acute ear infection. This is not the only problem the band has had with infections, founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman was forced to cancel the Australian tour due to a severe arm infection.

A number of Sydney fans were very annoyed with one Musicfeeds reader commenting:

looks like I’m one of the idiots who payed 150 bucks to see slayer because I always miss out on tickets to any shows only to have them pull out for a ear infection. what a fucken pussy.poor baby has a sore ear.boo hoo.they should put on another show for free or sound wave tickets.Rob Zombi had sound and light problems still went on and played for fans and bigger crowd than slayer.
