Original Underoath Member Gives Update On Dallas Taylor’s Condition

As the entire heavy music community waits with baited breath for an update on Dallas Taylor’s condition, another former Underoath member has reached out to concerned fans.

Overnight, news broke that Taylor, one of the founding members of Underoath, had been in a serious ATV accident and is in a critical condition.

Corey Steger, who was part of the band for their first two albums, commented on a post from Alt Press overnight, explaining he’s aware people are desperate for an update, and he just spend about four hours by Taylor’s bedside in the ICU.

“He has some pretty serious injuries that include some issues with his lungs, some head trauma, and a pretty severely broken right arm.” At the time of the comment, Taylor was unable to open his eyes and after he was taken off sedatives was only able to communicate to the nurse “by squeezing her hand and moving his feet as well as lifting his arms a little bit.”

Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster, who Taylor fronted, have also released a brief update in addition to Steger’s saying that “They have been running neurological tests and he is set to go into surgery this afternoon to repair the multiple broken bones in his arm.”

Steger finishes his update, which you can read in full below, by thanking friends and family of the band for their support emotionally, spiritually and financially.

“I know a lot of you were looking for an update on Dallas’s condition. I was able to spend about 4 hours alone with him today at the hospital. He is still in the trauma care. He has some pretty serious injuries that include some issues with his lungs, some head trauma , and a pretty severely broken right arm. He was unable to open his eyes while I was there but when the nurse took him off some of the pain medication and sedation meds he was able to respond to her by squeezing her hand and moving his feet as well as lifting his arms a little bit.

I would like to personally thank everyone for all of the prayers and financial help. He has given so much to all of us and ask for so little in return. Dallas is one of my oldest friends and I know that he would never want you to blame God for what happened. I hope all of you join me and asking God to be enough in this situation and continue to pray his wonderful son and his son’s mom , as well as his parents and the nurse that is currently looking after him. Thank you to everyone that has supported him and loved him for so long… Because we for sure love you.”
