Falls Festival Drops Massive Artist Announcement & 2016/2017 Dates

UPDATE 23/08/16: London Grammar have been announced on the Falls Festival 2016/2017 lineup.

ORIGINAL STORY: Falls Festival has just dropped the flippin’ motherload.

First and foremost, they’ve given us a massive lineup teaser, revealing the first artist who’ll be gracing the bill in each state this time around… the one and only Childish Gambino.

Last in Australia for Listen Out 2015, Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover, will be touring his forthcoming and highly anticipated new album PHAROS, due out later in 2016. The album will follow 2013’s Because The Internet and his 2014 EP Kauai.

The New Years-straddling festival will return at the end of this year, with four huge events taking place in Victoria’s Lorne, NSW’s Byron Bay, Tassie’s Marion Bay and – for the first time ever – WA’s Fremantle.

Organisers have also revealed the dates for each leg of the festival to circle on your calendar.

Lorne is first up, running across four days from Wednesday, 28th December – Saturday, 31st December.

While Marion Bay festivities will run across three days, kicking off on Thursday, 29th December and wrapping up on Saturday, 31st December.

The Byron leg will then run from Saturday, 31st December right through until Tuesday, 2nd January, while the previously announced Fremantle festival will run across two days, from Saturday 7th – Sunday 8th January 2017.

Finally, the Falls dudes and dudettes have also given us another date to note down: Tuesday, 23rd August, which is when the full lineups for each event are due to drop (!).

Yep. The countdown is officially awwwwwwwn y’all. Giddy up!
