Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker & Mark Ronson Produced Lady Gaga’s New Single

A few months ago Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, producer extraordinaire Mark Ronson and pop mega-star Lady Gaga were pictured in the studio together, and now we know exactly what they were doing — working on Gaga’s forthcoming single.

Gaga has updated her website to reveal that her new single Perfect Illusion will be released sometime next month and, as Pitchfork confirms, it’s produced by Parker and Ronson.

Parker and Ronson worked together on Ronson’s last record Uptown Special, but this is the first time Gaga has worked with the pair.

Back in May when Ronson posted an Instagram photo of the trio in the studio together (below), he captioned it “illusion”, which now makes sense given that the record is called Perfect Illusion.

This will be Parker’s first time working closely with a major pop star, although Rihanna covered his track New Person, Same Mistakes for her record ANTI earlier this year. Previously, he’s produced for the likes of Perth band Koi Child and French act Melody’s Echo Chamber, although this is by far his most high profile release.

By the sounds of it, Ronson has been working very closely with Gaga on her new music, which will follow-up to 2013’s Artpop.

“It’s really great to make this very honest, authentic, kind of analog record with her,” Roson told Rolling Stone.

There’s no exact release date for Gaga’s Perfect Illusion yet, but hopefully it comes sooner in September rather than later, because this collab sounds very enticing.
