Gorillaz will release The Fall, an album they gave away as a free download on Christmas day, as a physical release on CD and Vinyl.
It will be released on Record Store day, a day were artists celebrate the art of music by releasing special vinyl, CD and promotional products. Record Store is celebrated on April 16. You will only be able to get it from selected independent record stores in the US. So eBay might be the option for us Aussies.
The Fall was recorded on an iPad as the band toured America in 2010, Damon Albarn said “I wanted to make sure that it came out at the end of the tour because I don’t want anyone to think I’d tampered with it. I literally made it on the road in America over a month. I didn’t write it before, I didn’t prepare it. I just did it day by day as a kind of diary of my experience in America.” He then releasing it as a free download to fan club members.
digital download copies will also be available April 19.
