Flea Responds To FOX News Criticism, Gives Very Little Fucks What They Think

Flea has gone and done what bass players do best and slapped… down some harsh comments made by FOX News’ Greg Gutfeld last week.

ICYMI: the FOX presenter decided to let fly a pretty random and unprovoked diss on the Red Hot Chili Peppers on “news” show The Five – calling them “the worst band on the planet”.

And when he was met by a harsh backlash from Chilis fans, Gutfeld upped his game and took the shade-flinging to a new level; clarifying that he in fact meant to say that they were “the worst band in the universe”.

Now, in a new interview with NME – Flea was questioned about the comments, and responded in his typically laid-back, no-fucks-given kind of way.

The string-snapper zingered: “I remember seeing a poll recently that said people who watch FOX News knew less about world affairs than people who watch no news at all.”

“It’s clearly a funny [program],” Flea continued. ““It doesn’t phase me, not really. I heard that. It’s funny. I don’t care. They’re all welcome to hate us. God bless ’em.”

Since Flea’s comments, the back-and-forth has continued; with Gutfeld bringing up the argument again on Monday’s episode of The Five. Though, somehow, bizarrely – his conclusion was that Flea was a good guy for “agreeing with him [Gutfeld] that his band is terrible” (which is just classic FOX News, really. Don’t ever let the facts get in the way of your version of reality, guys. You do you).

Gutfeld continued, as his over-inflated ego crushed what little decency that may have been present in his character: “This was a really great example of how differences can be resolved easily by simply agreeing with me.”

Righto mate.
