New Outkast Material Might Be On The Way

It sounds like Outkast are recording new material, if US rapper Gucci Mane is to be believed.

Mane, who was recently released from jail after nearly three years, took to Snapchat to boast about all the people he’s been recording tracks with, and Outkast were the first act he mentioned.

“I just did a record for OutKast,” he said, following them up with Boosie, Lil Wayne, Project Pat and E-40.

That’s the only details we have, but it’s got Twitter ablaze with speculation that Outkast are recording new tunes in secret.

The pairing of Andre 3000 and Big Boi reunited back in 2014 for a handful of festival appearances, including headline sets at Coachella and Splendour In The Grass, but have since gone their separate ways without delivering any new material.

This year, Andre 3000 has laid down verses on records by Frank Ocean and Travis Scott, while Big Boi dropped a collaborative record with Phantogram under the name of Big Grams.

They haven’t released any new material since 2006’s patchy Idlewild.

We’ll have to wait and see if the rumours come true, but needless to say, this could be absolutely massive if it does.
