A Bunch Of Aussie Musos To Perform At Anti-Pokies Concert In Sydney

A new anti-poker machine social movement called Proudly Pokies Free is set to hold their campaign launch event next month, with a concert that’s set to feature a massive lineup of Aussie musicians supporting the cause.

According to the Proudly Pokies Free Facebook page, the movement is “all about championing and promoting pokies free venues in Sydney and reducing the massive harm the pokies have in our communities.”

Now they’ve announced the lineup for their launch gig, set to be held on Sunday, 23rd October at the Oxford Art Factory. The Whitlams’ Tim Freedman, Joyride, Wild Honey, Left, Bad Deep DJs and some yet-to-be-announced special guests.

“We are asking the young people of Sydney to join us for a night of great music and positive vibes” says campaign manager, Anna Lawrence. “This night is about celebrating the incredible musicians that exist in this city and challenging an industry which makes it harder for them to thrive.”
