Architects Planning Aussie Headline Tour Following Bring Me The Horizon Cancellation

Here’s some happy news for fans still feeling gutted after Bring Me The Horizon cancelled the remainder of their Aussie tour dates due to frontman Oli Sykes copping a bad bout of laryngitis.

BMTH’s support act Architects are currently working on booking their own headlining Australian tour ASAP.

“We wanted to let you know that while replacement shows aren’t possible for this tour, we are putting together an Australian Headline Tour for you guys as soon as possible,” the band say in a statement. “We will have an announcement as soon as we can.”

The UK metalcore act will be working with the guys and gals at UNFD to make the tour happen, with drummer Dan Searle confirming that it should hopefully take place in 2017.

Meanwhile, Melbourne fans who missed out on seeing Architects live will be able to catch them tomorrow when they pop by for a special meet and greet appearance at Richmond’s 24 Hundred record store, between 4pm and 6pm. They’ll have all their tour merch in toe for anyone who wants to rock some sweet Architects swag or get their shit signed.

The band’s current Australian tour supporting BMTH has been a historic and emotional one, as it marks the first time the fellas have performed without guitarist Tom Searle, who tragically died just last month following a three-year battle with cancer.

Prior to the tour’s cancellation, one fan in Brisbane managed to bring Tom’s brother Dan to tears, with a heartbreaking tribute to the late Architects guitarist.

Dan has since taken to Facebook to let fans know that despite Architects’ grief still being so fresh, they’re glad they made the decision to come to Australia.

There’s been some enormously emotional moments for us on this tour, both on and off stage, but we’re glad to be here and we can honestly say that coming to Australia was the right thing to do. Anyone who has experienced a big loss in their lives will know that grief comes in waves and it can hit at any given moment, so its a bit of a lottery as to where our heads are at each night but we’re getting through it, sticking together and working through it one day at a time.

Thank you to everyone who has watched and supported us at each show. The band faded into the background for a long period of time and this tour has been a great reminder as to why we love doing this so much. Thank you.
