Yesterday, Bon Iver‘s socials teased that something was going down in Melbourne and as promised, it’s happening right now.
The address posted was a cafe in Fitzroy called Sir Charles but after the cafe owner was flooded with Bon Iver-related calls it was revealed that it would not actually be inside the cafe.
Instead, it’s going down in a laneway and it’s a listening party of sorts. There’s a huge mural of artwork from the album 22, A Million and newspapers are being handed out which contain artwork from the record as well as lyrics.
The album is being played in full but rather bizarrely, it’s being played off a very small boombox which is apparently not catering well for “a couple of hundred” people.

It’s unknown at this stage whether anything else is going to happen but one Tweeter has called it “absolute chaos” as swarms of people are packed into the laneway.
These events are set to be held all around the world over the next 24 hours ahead of the album’s release tomorrow.
Check out a few posts from people who are at the event below plus Bon Iver’s unveiling of the magazine.
