Turns out David Bowie‘s posthumously released Blackstar album wasn’t the last piece of music that the legendary rocker recorded before he died.
The Starman had time to track three more musical gems before he departed our earthly realm, and they’re set to be released on an upcoming compilation CD based on his Lazarus musical.
However, two of those three songs – dubbed When I Met You and No Plan – have just surfaced online in full, courtesy of the BBC.
As Stereogum reports, the tracks were co-produced by Bowie and his longtime collaborator Tony Visconti, and feature experimental jazz musician Donny McCaslin and all the players who served as Bowie’s backing band on Blackstar.
When I Met You is a sweeping, spacey and cathartic cut “about finding personal salvation in the love of another person”, which can be streamed here at the 51.00-minute mark.
While No Plan is a darker and more theatrical number and can be streamed here at the 46.00-minute mark.
The Lazarus album, which features a disc of Bowie originals performed by the stage show’s cast, drops this Friday, 21st October.
