The Avalanches have given their Wildflower cut Because I’m Me the visual treatment, releasing a retro-inspired new video clip directed by Greg Brunkalla.
Regular Netflix bingers will more than likely detect some The Get Down vibes, with the clip (below) starring an all-African American cast sporting some serious ’70s Bronx style, and talent up the wazoo.
It stars a young boy who moves (and looks) like a young Michael Jackson as he sings and dances on a subway platform — backed by a brass band, breakdancers and a giant heart that inflates like an airbag — to try and impress a girl.
Meanwhile, The Avalanches have also just announced the official reissue of their seminal debut album, 2000’s Since I Left You, on vinyl, which is due out 27th January, 2017. As Pitchfork reports, the reissue will be exclusive to independent record stores, and fans can vote on the colour (either red, blue, clear, or gold) of the 5,000 limited edition pressings and pledge the local record store you want the vinyl stocked at (vote here).
The multiple ARIA-nominated Aussie electrolords are still on the touring circuit in support of their first album in 16 years, Wildflower, with national headlining dates lined up for 2017 after their debut at Falls Festival.
