Bloc Party Working on New Material for the Studio in September

British indie-rock band Bloc Party have started working on new material for their upcoming fourth album. They will go back in the studio in September, according to guitarist Russell Lissack.

“We’re having a bit of a break until the festivals are over, because people have commitments during the summer, but we’re going to get back properly in September and sit in a rehearsal studio to work on new band material.”

Lissack, who recently finished playing as a live member with the band ASH told NME that he has met up with front man Kele Okereke and they’ve both “started working on Bloc Party stuff together and separately”.

The band went on hiatus in 2009, all members working on their separate projects, including Kele releasing his solo effort The Boxer in June 2010. The band then met up at Christmas time to discuss new routes that the band’s fourth album could take.
