Japandroids Share Title Track From New Album ‘Near To The Wild Heart Of Life’

Canadian duo Japandroids have announced that their third album is on the way, and have also dropped the title track from the forthcoming release.

The record will be called Near To The Wild Heart Of Life, and from the first single it definitely signals a new direction for the band.

The instrumentation on the new single creates a heavier texture than we’re used to from Japandroids’ first two albums, possibly indicating that the forthcoming record is set to be less raw and more refined.

That’s not to say that they’ve lost any of their trademark rock energy, but aspects like the harmonic layering of Brian King’s vocals are certainly noticeable.

Near To The Wild Heart Of Life is set to follow the same eight song format as Japandroids’ previous records Post-Nothing and Celebration Rock.

You can catch the band live at Fairgrounds Festival, Meredith Festival and Disconnect Festival in December, and they’re playing some intimate sideshows as well.
