Watch Sting Perform At The Reopening Of Paris’ Bataclan Theatre

Last night the Bataclan Theatre in Paris opened its doors for the first time since the devastating and tragic terror attack that took place there one year ago.

Veteran British musician Sting played a touching performance, while heavy security patrolled the theatre, and the crowd included families of the victims of last year’s attack who were given free tickets.

Billboard reports that Sting held a minute’s silence for the victims, as well as addressing the crowd in fluent French. “We’ve got two important things to do tonight,” he said. “First, to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the attacks a year ago and to celebrate the life and the music of this historic venue.”

During the concert he played songs including FragileEvery Breath You Take, and So Lonely.

In the hours after the concert finished reports emerged that Eagles Of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes had been denied entry to the venue, claims that were refuted by EODM’s management.

Despite the venue banning filming on phones for the gig, plenty of fans captures footage of the evening.
