You Can Now Make Music Simply By Snapping A Picture

Sceptics will tell you that anyone can make music these days and maybe they’re right.

A new online tool allows you to create a tune by just taking a photo. Literally, that’s all you have to do.

Google’s been experimenting with its artificial intelligence technologies, and its latest experiment taps into the budding musician inside of you.

Basically, your computer snaps a photo of you and this online tool then creates a song taking its lyrics from what it recognises in the picture.

It uses music by legendary Italian producer Giorgio Moroder and combines image recognition and speech synthesis to custom-make your lyrics.

It’s probably not the musical masterpiece you’d be hoping to release as your debut single but it’s a pretty damn cool tool that allows you to make music with the click of one button.

The tool is called Giorgio Cam named after Moroder – a producer who has worked with Daft Punk, Kylie Minogue and now you.

Check out an explanation of how it all works below and have a play with it here.
