The Mountain Goats Announce 2017 Australian Tour Dates

The good times are still being set up for next year’s Bluesfest, and now The Mountain Goats are the latest to announce their extra-curricular activities, locking in a run of headline dates to truly make the most of their first trip down under in five years.

Aside from performing at Bluesfest 2017, The Mountain Goats’ next trip to Australia will include headline dates in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne throughout April.

The trio are known for their ability to string together a story. So much so that even through the lo-fi solo recordings of the 1990s, fans found themselves hanging on every word. Of course, as the band progressed, so did their sound, resulting in the rich, grandly conceptual, full-band experience we enjoy today.

Throughout 15 albums, the latest being Beat the Champ, founder and main man John Darnielle has woven intricate tales on an array of topics. His abilities as a storyteller transcended with the release of his first written novel, Wolf in White Van, which will be followed-up with a new novel in the coming year.

Rest assured, Darnielle and co will have plenty of stories to unfurl for you come 2017. Catch all of The Mountain Goats’ upcoming Aussie shows, below.
