Arrest Made In Connection To Death Of 3 Doors Down Founding Member Matt Roberts

Back in August, news broke that Matt Roberts, founding guitarist of seminal rock outfit 3 Doors Down, had been found deceased in a hotel room.

Roberts’ doctor has now reportedly been arrested for prescribing the guitarist the drugs that led to his death.

According to Fox 6 News, Dr. Richard Snellgrove provided the 38-year-old musician with five different prescription drugs, a cocktail that included methadone, hydrocodone, loraxepam and fentanyl, allegedly all under different names.

Roberts’ Father, Darrell who discovered his son unresponsive while on tour together released a statement explaining that the arrest of the doctor understandably brings him no “satisfaction.”

“There’s no satisfaction in seeing a doctor arrested,” he said.

“I don’t have any bitterness, no anger, nothing like that towards the doctor, but I’m also aware this is a serious issue in the medical community all over the United States.”

Roberts was found back in August at a hotel room in West Bend, Wisconsin where he was scheduled to perform for a charity event. Police announced that the cause of death was related to prescription drugs.

After forming 3 Doors Down, Roberts parted ways with the group in 2012 to focus on his health.
