Datarock anounce Australian supports

Norwegian outfit Datarock, set to visit our shores for the seventh time this May to play as part of The Groovin The Moo Festival, have just announced the local supports for the upcoming tour. In Brisbane the band will be joined by Mitzi and Tortoiseshell, while Goldfields are handling the Sydney leg with Wearefans rounding out the tour with the boys in Melbourne.

The band are touring in support of the release of their new single, Catcher In The Rye, which may well go down as the most extravagant single release in history. Released in recognition of the band’s ten year anniversary this year, the single comes as a vinyl designer toy with a USB stick embedded in it that features 110 tracks, 1500 photos taken at their shows in 33 countries, 20 music videos, and Never Say Die a brand new hour-long concert film. The single will also be released as a digital 5 track EP. The USB features the EP, the new album Music For Synchronization, both of their previous albums with bonus tracks, the new Lost and Found b-sides and rarities compilation, 15 new instrumentals, and the 40 track remix album Mixed Up.

The band have also just made a short behind the scenes video about the making of their new California EP, which saw the band recording together as a band for the first time in their career.
