Man Overdoses And Policeman Bitten At Sydney Music Festival

Police are “frustrated” with the behaviour of some of the attendees at Sydney festival Earthcore In The Park after one man overdosed and a woman bit a policeman, on top of several drug-related arrests.

The festival in Western Sydney went down yesterday with police running an operation targeting drugs and anti-social behaviour.

Fairfield Local Area Commander, Superintendent Peter Lennon said, “the majority of the festival goers were well behaved and supported police efforts in making the event safer,” however, there were a number of exceptions.

Police charged three people for drug supply while a further six were charged with possession. Seven punters were issued cannabis cautions.

A 22 year-old man was treated for a suspected overdose and remains at Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Lennon warned that not only are drugs “illegal” but they can also have “deadly consequences”.

Police also arrested a 24 year-old woman allegedly bit a police officer and kicked another in the face as she was being escorted out of the festival. She was taken to Fairfield Police Station where she was charged with assaulting a police officer.

Earthcore In The Park is a smaller version of the five day festival which is currently going down in Victoria.
