Dune Rats Wrote ‘Scott Green’ After Literally Spending A Day In Walmart Asking “Who’s Scott Green?”

Dune Rats dropped their new single Scott Green on Friday and now they’ve revealed the story behind it and, well, there’s not a lot to it.

The Brissie boys’ latest single is less about a man called Scott Green and more about a certain plant that they may or may not indulge in from time to time. And it turns out the song was literally inspired by a hunt for said plant.

“We made Scott Green out at Joshua Tree in America with Zac [Carper] from Fidlar,” they said.

“We had five days to write some songs in between tours in the US & UK and we busted out a f**k-load of tunes having a blast in the middle of bum-f**k nowhere.”

Despite the hectic schedule they still found time to spend a whole day in a US Walmart asking, “Who’s Scott Green?”

“It took all day,” they said.

“When we got back Zac said ‘You better have a fucken song after wasting a day looking for who’s got green. We just started making a song about the day – ‘Who’s Scott Green’ – and that was it.”

Scott Green is the latest taste of their forthcoming second album due out next year. It follows on from their previous single Bullshit which was released earlier this year.

In other news, Dunies have actually found the real Scott Green and while he doesn’t look like he’d be much of a fan, they’ve offered him free concert tickets for life.
