A Nick Murphy & Kaytranada Collab Is Dropping “Soon”

UPDATE: Nick Murphy and Kaytranada have released their new single ‘Your Time’.

ORIGINAL STORY: It looks like Nick Murphy (FKA Chet Faker) and Kaytranada are gearing up to drop something together pretty damn soon.

Kaytranada dropped a clip of a song he had done with the Aussie muso into his recent 0.001% mixtape, but until now we haven’t heard anything about when the full collab will be arriving.

The Canadian producer has now answered a fan on Twitter telling them, “It will be released soon on behalf of Nick Murphy.”

How soon is obviously the biggest question. It’s unknown whether it will be released on Murphy’s upcoming new album or beforehand as a standalone release. We know he has been working on his first album under his real name, and he dropped its first single Stop Me, Stop You just a few weeks back.

So far, it’s been revealed that Murphy has been working with Dave Harrington, who is one half of Darkside, and he’s also set to feature on a song on the new Bonobo record Migration.

Two years ago, Kaytranada flipped Murphy’s Hottest 100-topping track Talk Is Cheap, but apart from that the pair have never released anything together.

In addition to working with Murphy, it sounds like Kaytranada has also been working on a few other things. He’s working on a follow-up to All Night with Chance The Rapper, but he’s waiting for Chance to send him “the vocal parts”, and he was also asked to work with Gorillaz, but he “didn’t hear back from them again”.

If you want to hear a clip of Kaytranada’s collab with Murphy, check out his mixtape below and head to the one hour and 20 minute mark.
