Subsonic Loses Two International Acts But Gains Another

Just over a day before annual dance blowout Subsonic kicks off, two international drawcards have pulled out of the festival.

UK drum and bass belter Goldie and Detroit’s techno wizard DJ Bone have both pulled the plug on their Subsonic slots, with the former act citing “circumstances beyond my control and the need for me to be with my family” for the decision, while Bone blamed “the actions/inactions of others who appear to have been the source of [other tour related] misunderstandings.”

Hmmmm.

Anyhoo, Subsonic organisers have swung into action following news of both acts’ cancellations, adding one new replacement act to the bill in the form of Subsonic veteran Move D, who just polished off a set at this year’s Strawberry Fields fest.

“Move D tore a proverbial hole in the River Stage in 2014 as many of you will remember – the stage was beyond capacity with people cramming into every available space,” organisers posted on Facebook. “It was a special moment from a very special artist.”

The Riverwood Downs Mountain Valley Resort doof is set to go down this weekend, running from Friday, 2nd December through til Sunday, 4th and featuring a stacked bill of over 250 acts including Simon Caldwell, Spit Syndicate, Robbie Lowe and Paul Mac‘s Stereogamous, Machinedrum, Jimmy Edgar and the legendary Seth Troxler, who’s about to jump out of a plane with three of his Subsonic DJ m8s to raise money for Keep Sydney Open’s fight against the city’s lockout laws.
