Gorillaz have continued to do just about everything but release new music in the past few months, with the latest activity from the cartoon band coming in the form of a Christmas-themed Spotify playlist.
The band’s bassist Murdoc has created a Dirty Santa Party playlist full of your lesser known, dirtier Christmas songs and carols.
The playlist itself features tracks like Santa Claus Goes Straight To The Ghetto by Snoop and Nate Dogg, Fuck Christmas by Monty Python’s Eric Idle and a song called Christmas My Arse.
It was announced via an Instagram post from the band that read; “Fresh (although at the same time, quite the opposite) of hosting his very own dirty santa party, Murdoc shares his soundtrack to get you feeling festive. Enjoy irresponsibly.”
The latest solid news that we’ve heard about Gorillaz’ forthcoming new album is that it will feature De La Soul and Snoop Dogg. As for when to expect the release? Well in July this year Damon Albarn said it’ll be out “fairly soon,” and six months later we’ve heard jack all.
So basically no one except Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have any idea when we’ll hear anything new from Gorillaz.
