The Avalanches Drop New Freddie Gibbs-Featuring Track ‘Bad Day’

The Avalanches have given us a final treat for 2016, releasing a new track with rapper Freddie Gibbs Bad Day.

The Aussie group have called it “a Christmas jam for you all,” marking the first release since their sophomore record Wildflower released earlier this year.

They’ve shared two mixes of the song, describing the second as the “OG version” of the song.

One samples a Gladys Knight cover of Stevie Wonder and also fits in a sample of Shuggie Otis.

While this version features Gibbs, don’t expect this to be the final version of the song. Much like Kanye’s The Life Of Pablo, it sounds like Bad Day will continue to expand with the group promising version with Posdnuos from De La Soul and Spank Rock.

The Avalanches are currently playing Falls Festival and will also embark on a headline tour of the country early next year.

2016 broke a 13 year drought for the band, as they finally delivered the follow-up to Since I Left You.
