Daryl Braithwaite Admitted To Hospital, Cancels Upcoming Shows

Former Sherbet frontman and ‘The Horses’ singer Daryl Braithwaite has been hospitalised, and has cancelled a number of upcoming shows.

In a statement posted to Facebook yesterday, Braithwaite said he’s “had to cancel this week’s shows due to illness and sudden admission into hospital”.

“I am disappointed that I won’t be able to perform at the Australian Open Tennis tonight nor the Mornington Peninsula [Red Hot Summer Tour] shows this weekend.

“I am hoping to make a speedy recovery and be back doing shows very soon.”

Braithwaite was set to perform at the Australian Open in Melbourne last night, and at Mornington Racecourse as part of the Red Hot Summer Tour this weekend, alongside the likes of Shannon Noll and John Farnham. He hasn’t said that he will be cancelling any other Red Hot Summer Tour appearances.

Braithwaite is also still schedule to perform at an Australia Day concert in St Kilda, Melbourne, and the A Weekend In The Gardens concert series in March.

Music Feeds has contacted Braithwaite’s record label and Red Hot Summer Tour organisers for comment.
