Maynard James Keenan Is Recording Vocals For The New Tool Album

The last update we heard from Tool about their new album was that they had hit “roadblocks” but it seems they might’ve moved past that.

An update has been posted to the band’s website saying that they have moved to a bigger studio and frontman Maynard James Keenan is recording vocals.

“The band has temporarily MOVED some of their gear into a larger space (across town) where MAYNARD is working on VOCALS for some of the new Tool material,” the update reads.

Tool traditionally record the music before Maynard steps in to record vocals. The rest of the band members have hinted in the last few weeks that they are finishing music. Guitarist Adam Jones took to Instagram a few weeks ago to say that another, “arrangement” was “in the can”.

If Maynard is in the booth recording vocals then that’s a good sign that the band are signing off on some instrumentals already.

It’s been a very long road for Tool fans waiting for this latest record but let’s cross all our fingers and toes that they’re going to have this album “in the can” in 2017.
