Yep, Dune Rats Have Their Own Beer Now

Dune Rats have their own beer now, because of course they do. It’s called Dunies Lager, and it’s being touted as a “slightly hazy, summer smasher of a beer with a full blown dank hop nose and flavour, courtesy of some late addition hop hash”.

Dunies Lager is a shoey-friendly collaboration between the band and Newtown legends Young Henrys, and is apparently the result of a bet made by the brewing masters, who promised to allow Dune Rats loose in their brewery if their new album The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit reached number one on the ARIA charts, which legit happened.

“We set out to make the coldest beer in the world, so with Young Henrys scientists, we have developed the world’s coldest beer,” Dunies say.

“Even when it’s warm, it’s cold! When it’s a day for it, crack open an ice cold Dunies Lager. A can so cold it’ll cool ya house.”

What’s more, the Dunies Lager label has been designed by Lee McConnell, who also did the artwork for The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit. Here’s the label to look out for:

Yep, 4.20% alcohol

Young Henrys founder Oscar McMahon says, “The Dunies lads are legit, hardworking, honest and don’t take themselves too seriously. We see eye to eye with them, love their excitement for everything they do and wanted to do something fun to share that excitement with a few more people”.

Dunies Lager will get its debut at a free launch party in Sydney on Sunday, 26th February, and throughout the country on Dune Rats’ national tour this March. The beer will also be available in six packs of 330mL tinnies for $24.99, while you’ll also be able to buy it in single cans, 24-pack cases and from the tap at select venues around the country.

Dune Rats aren’t the first band of Aussie rockers to have their own beer line, with the likes of Violent Soho and Pond already getting their whistles wet on their own unique drops.
