Here’s How Many Tickets Guns N’ Roses Sold On Their Australian Tour

Guns N’ Roses‘ 2017 Australian stadium tour was a spectacle to say the least, and now that the attendance numbers have been released, fans can see just how many thousands of tickets the band managed to sell around the country.

In total, a whopping 270,000 Gunners fans turned out to see the band perform at huge shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth last month, as part of the band’s Not In This Lifetime Tour.

Along the way, the band became the first international act to sell out the 74,000-capacity Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), and they also performed to 85,000 people over two nights in Sydney.

Here are the attendance stats in each city:

7th February — QSAC Stadium, Brisbane: 40,000

10th February — ANZ Stadium, Sydney: 50,000

11th February — ANZ Stadium, Sydney: 35,000

14th February — MCG, Melbourne: 74,000

18th February — Adelaide Oval, Adelaide: 36,000

21st February — Domain Stadium, Perth: 35,000

Paul Dainty, CEO of Gunners’ tour promoters TEG Dainty, says he was pleasantly surprised that GNR sold as many tickets as they did.

“Guns N’ Roses has a huge fan base in Australia, but I would say it’s now bigger than ever after this fabulous tour,” he says.

“Every night the band delivered its trademark sound and performance. I can’t speak highly enough of their professionalism and passion. We would love to see them back soon.”

Luckily enough for Paul, Gunners have already said “they’ll be back” to tour Australia again.

Meanwhile, former GNR drummer Steven Adler wants the band’s full original lineup to reunite for the 30th anniversary of the group’s debut album Appetite For Destruction, and it looks like frontman Axl Rose might be working on a new AC/DC album with the band’s Angus Young.
