An “Amazing” Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile Collaboration Is On The Way

Aussie singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett has collaborated with American singer Kurt Vile on a “forthcoming compilation”, according to a Melbourne music studio.

The website of Newmarket Studios states that the pair have recorded new material together, which is yet to be mixed. The collaboration was recorded by engineer and producer Callum Barter, who has previously worked with the likes of British India, Saskwatch, Dorsal Fins and Dan Sultan.

Here’s Barter with Barnett and Vile, in a photo shared by Newmarket Studios.

In a previous Instagram post about the collaboration, Newmarket Studios also said there are “amazing tracks for your ears coming soon”.

Kurt and Courtney were first spotted together in a photo shared by Barnett’s record label Milk Records earlier this month…

…and were later seen together in a photo shared by Vile himself:

Vile has been in Australia on his debut Australian solo tour, after releasing his latest album b’lieve I’m goin down… in 2015. He even performed with Barnett during his recent show at Meeniyan Town Hall.

Meanwhile, Barnett is still writing the follow-up to her debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, and a new song from the rocker is set to be released later this year.
