There Was A Power Outage At Adele’s Adelaide Show, Because Of Course There Was

Adele‘s first-ever concert in Adelaide has been plagued by a power outage, because, well, it was in Adelaide.

The mishap brought the English singer’s show to a stop for around five minutes on Monday night, after a cord attached to her rotating stage became unplugged — so it wasn’t anything to do with Adelaide’s recent energy problems, thankfully — but tour promoters Live Nation have declined to comment on the reason for the outage.

Adele was reportedly chatting and making dirty jokes with fans moments after the error.

“So, we are having a technical difficulty. I’m not quite sure what it is,” she said, before launching into a “filthy joke”.

“What do you call a blonde standing on her head? A brunette with bad breath.”

At the end of the show, Adele again apologised to fans for the power outage, and confirmed that her revolving stage was the culprit. Watch her thank fans for their patience, below.

Despite the power hiccup, Adele’s Adelaide show still broke records to become still the largest crowd for any concert in South Australia and the largest crowd at any event held at Adelaide Oval, with over 70,000 people in attendance.

Adele’s debut Australian tour has seen its fair share of interesting moments thus far, including alleged fat-shaming, armies of mosquitoes, major public transport delays and a fan going into cardiac arrest.

The tour wraps up with two shows in Melbourne this coming weekend.
