The 2017 lineup for Byron Bay Bluesfest has expanded once again, with the addition of a packed roster for Boomerang Festival, Bluesfest’s festival-within-a-festival.
The Indigenous-led event, curated by Bundjalung woman Rhoda Roberts, will bring a lineup of music, dance and interactive workshops to this year’s Bluesfest, with artists from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Tibet, including the likes of Leonard Sumner, Yirrmal, Emily Wurramara and Tenzin Choegyal.
“Let’s begin the healing together and dance to the new music, listen to the language and witness the ancient and the accessible. Now the time is right,” Mrs Roberts says.
“Boomerang Festival in conjunction with Bluesfest knows it’s time to redefine the great experiences of festivals. Come and dip your toe in.”
This year’s Boomerang artists join a huge Bluesfest lineup which features the likes of Neil Finn, Jet frontman Nic Cester, Kasey Chambers, Courtney Barnett, Santana and Patti Smith. View the full updated lineup, below.
