Ultra Music Festival Is Coming To Australia

UPDATE: Ultra Music Festival Australia 2018 Lineup Announced

ORIGINAL STORY: Hold onto your glowsticks because ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL IS COMING TO AUSTRALIA.

The monster electro bash has just announced plans to expand Down Under.

The announcement was captured in a video live stream of UMF’s flagship event in Miami, which is currently unfolding with sets from megastars like Ice Cube, Major Lazer, The Prodigy, Cypress Hill, Alesso, David Guetta, DJ Snake, Tiesto, Armen Van Buren and we’ll stop before you soil your shorts but this is obvies HUGE NEWS for Aussie dance fans.

In the clip below, which has been shared on a brand new Facebook Page for Ultra Australia (which may or may not be official), UMF’s mainstage MC proclaims that Australia has “just joined our global family” as part of a “global expansion”.

“We’re moving to Australia!” He announces before a horde of screaming ravers. “Give it up for our Aussie fans!”

The Facebook page for Ultra Australia has posted “Get ready for 2018!”, which is reportedly the year that the mega-doof will make its way Down Under.

Melbourne-based touring company Lucky Ent has also shared the video announcement, with the tagline “It’s coming… Ultra Australia!!!”

Just FYI: Ultra Worldwide has produced a gargantuan 26 events, spanning 17 countries and 5 continents in 2016 alone (including our for close neighbours in Bali & Japan) which is a feat unrivalled by any other music event on the planet.

And today’s announcement is bound to gee up legions of fanboys & girls still heartbroken over the loss of Stereosonic  and the subsequent emotional wallop of the “totally fake” 2017 lineup poster that was doing the rounds, with UMF to bring cutting-edge production, state-of-the-art sound systems, light shows, fireworks and some of the world’s best electronic acts to our shores.

It’s not yet been officially confirmed where or when the inaugural Ultra Australia will take place, and the festival’s official website has not yet been updated to include us just yet.

Fans would actually be forgiven for being sceptical of the announcement after the festival previously tipped an expansion Down Under for 2014, which never materialised.

Music Feeds has reached out to Ultra HQ as well as Lucky Ent for more info and we’ll keep you posted with anything we hear back.

In the meantime, watch Ultra announce its Aussie expansion in the video below.
