NZ’s Rhythm And Alps Fest Unveils First 2017 Headliner

New Zealand’s Rhythm And Alps is getting in early with its 2017 lineup and announcing their first headliner eight months out from the fest.

That headliner is Aussie musical virtuoso Tash Sultana.

“Tash is a modern-day music phenomenon and we’re really excited to bring her to Wanaka for Rhythm & Alps 2017,” spruiks festival boss Alex Turnbull. “She’s huge not only in New Zealand and Australia, but around the world – she’s selling out shows everywhere from Paris to New York. She’s a really unique, high-quality artist and utterly captivating to watch live.”

The one-woman show will help 10,000 punters ring in the New Year when she takes the stage at the South Island’s Cardrona Valley across December 29th-31st.

And Turnbull reckons they’re expecting another sellout year.

“We are talking to some brilliant artists who are keen to come down,” he says. “Rhythm & Alps has an excellent reputation on the international touring circuit as a first-class festival and this reputation enables us to secure some amazing acts.”

More artists for the 2017 bill will be announced in the coming months.

In the meantime, Aussie fans can catch Tash playing Triple J’s One Night Stand and at a national headlining tour across April and May.

Rego for discounted early-bird tix to Rhythm And Alps are now open here, ahead of going on sale from 9am Monday, 10th April.
