PREMIERE: Stream Luke Yeoward’s Debut Album ‘Ghosts’ In Full Ahead Of Its Release

Frontman of beloved Aussie rock outfit King Cannons, Luke Yeoward, has taken the solo road, returning to the forefront of music in 2017 as an independent artist with debut album Ghosts, which we’re stoked to be premiering here today ahead of its official release.

Inspired by rock and roll greats like Springsteen and Joe Strummer, Ghosts is a remarkable return to form for the Australian muso, brimming with driving guitar riffs, crashing drums and Yeoward’s honest, nostalgic lyrics.

“Being on the other side of the world and working with people I wouldn’t usually work with was very inspiring,” Yeoward tells Music Feeds. “Being nostalgic in my surroundings and being able to spend some time alone to reflect. The sunshine, the political climate, stories I would hear in my travels and conversations I would have with friends new and old.”

Ghosts was recorded in LA straight to 8-track, using vintage analogue equipment. The album features co-writes and guest appearances from the likes of Chris Cheney (The Living End), J Bonner (The Black Emeralds) and more.

“I also only had 3.5 weeks to write and record a whole album with no fixed studio time booked and no material realised before I arrived,” explains Yeoward. “So that pressure was a good kick up the arse! I smoked a lot of cigarettes and drank many black coffees.”

‘Ghosts’ is set for release on Friday, 21st April and, to celebrate, Yeoward will play album launch shows in Auckland and Melbourne. Catch those dates and stream ‘Ghosts’ in full, here below.
