Kaytranada is the busiest producer on the planet right now.
He’s fresh from collaborations with Nick Murphy and Mary J. Blige but he’s already looking at a new EP with Pharrell Williams.
Kaytranada dropped into Pharrell’s Beats 1 radio show OTHERtone and the pair hit it off, speaking about different types of world music.
“Let’s make an EP together,” Pharrell says to which Kaytranada immediately agreed.
“You show me Haitian music so that I can make it musically.”
Kaytranda moved from Haiti to Canada when he was a kid and has been subtly infusing it into his music. Earlier this year Kaytranda was in the studio with Wyclef Jean, making Haitian-flavoured music.
No word yet on when to expect the EP, given that they haven’t even got into the studio together yet but given the speed and consistency of Kaytranada’s output, it hopefully won’t be too long.
