Lorde has proved how much of a legend she really is by inviting a New York city cashier at smoothie shop Liquiteria to US festival Governors Ball.
The Kiwi popstar is in NYC this week gearing up to play the festival and she popped in for a smoothie, surprising cashier Ayesha Mangú who was new on the job.
A video shows Lorde in the store, clutching her smoothie while Mangú celebrates her first smoothie.
After it happened, Lorde then slid into her DMs to ask her to come to Gov Ball, “on me”.
“I was gonna ask u in the store if u wanted to come but i got shy,” she continued.
It’s unbelievable to imagine Lorde, who will be performing to thousands of people come the weekend, can get shy in a smoothie store but there you go. She’s just like us.
In other Lorde news, she’s going to release a new single from her forthcoming album Melodrama on Friday. It will be her third, following on from ‘Green Light’ and ‘Liability’.
