Comedian Eddie Izzard Gets Quizzed On King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

English comedian Eddie Izzard has been put through his trivia paces with a round of questions about Aussie psych lords King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard on National Public Radio (NPR) in the US.

Taking part in the celebrity quiz segment ‘Not My Job’ on NPR‘s ‘Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me!’ programme, Izzard fielded questions about King Gizz from host Peter Sagal, who introduced the quiz by saying, “So, obviously, Eddie Izzard, we couldn’t decide whether to ask you about gizzards, lizards, or wizards, but then we found out we could ask you about all three at once.”

Izzard then answered three questions about “the very real Australian band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard”, kicking off with this one:

“Most critics agree that King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard did not really come into their own until their second full-length album — a concept album called Eyes Like The Sky. What was the concept?”

Izzard got the question wrong, as well as the other two that followed, so it looks like we won’t be seeing Eddie Izzard & The Lizard Wizard on tour anytime soon.

Listen to the full segment below, with the King Gizzard stuff kicking off at 6:05.

King Gizzard released their latest album Murder Of The Universe last week, as the follow-up to Flying Microtonal Banana. The band will perform at Splendour In The Grass and Spilt Milk festivals later this year, before they host the 2017 edition of their own music festival, Gizzfest.
