Radiohead Are Planning A “Little Tour” In 2018, But Is Australia Involved?

Radiohead have been touring off the back of their latest album A Moon Shaped Pool for over a year now, but they’re yet to bring it to Australia.

That all might change in 2018 though, with guitarist Ed O’Brien now revealing to the BBC that the band are planning a “little tour” for next year.

But will Australia be part of it?

Thom Yorke and co. haven’t toured down under since 2012, after the release of their previous album The King Of Limbs. Since then, the A Moon Shaped Pool tour has made its way through Europe, Canada, the US, Japan and Mexico, and will even arrive in Israel later this month.

Last month we reported that the band couldn’t decide on whether they’d eventually bring the tour to Australia, but O’Brien’s latest comments suggest it could still be on the cards.

Radiohead’s 2012 Aussie tour saw them play some huge shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, and since then fans have fallen victim to a cruel prank which had everyone’s hopes up about a potential tour in 2017.

While an Australian tour seems unlikely for this year, there’s definitely a chance that next year’s “little tour” could include a stopover down under.

That said, a number of members of Radiohead are currently working on solo projects; Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood are scoring some upcoming films, while O’Brien is planning to release his debut solo album later this year.

So there’s still a question of whether or not the band will have time to plan for a new trip down under, but we’ve got our fingers (and toes) crossed that it happens.
