Father John Misty Says He’ll Return To Australia Later This Year

Father John Misty may be just days away from performing a set at Splendour In The Grass 2017, not to mention a couple of sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne – but the enigmatic musician has just teased the very real possibility of more shows in Australia later this year.

Real name Josh Tillman, Father John Misty had a chat with Double J‘s Myf Warhurst today ahead of his performances this weekend and into next week.

During the chat he revealed that his current run of shows wouldn’t be his last in Australia in 2017. “I’m coming back in the Christmas time, the Christmas summer thing over here,” he told Warhurst.

While he could be coming back to showcase his recently released third studio album Pure Comedy around the country, the timing would also work perfectly for an appearance at one of Australia’s many New Years music festivals.

Father John Misty’s latest wild music video stars child actor Macaulay Culkin as Kurt Cobain who is crucified by corporate hacks.
