Corey Taylor Says Chad Kroeger’s Bandmates Apologised For His “Nickelback-Lite” Diss

The beef between Corey Taylor and Chad Kroeger that seems to be never-ending has taken another plot twist, with Taylor suggesting that (shock horror!) Kroeger’s Nickelback bandmates don’t share the same opinions as him.

The whole beef started when Kroeger called Taylor’s band Stone Sour “Nickelback-lite”, to which Taylor replied calling Kroeger an “idiot” and later comparing him to KFC.

It then escalated even further with an entire Stone Sour crowd in chanting “fuck Nickelback”. It seems their chants shouldn’t be directed at the whole band, though.

In a new chat with US radio station 93.3 WMMR (via Blabbermouth), Taylor says that Kroeger’s bandmates don’t have the same “ego” their frontman has.

“As soon as that story hit, the band called and apologised,” Taylor says.

“They were like, ‘It’s not us. We promise. It’s this guy. We don’t…’ And I had hung out with the band before, and they’re super-cool dudes.”

He then goes on to give Kroeger a new nickname, which has a certain ring to it — “Captain Ego from Planet Douche.”

If Kroeger ever splits from the rest of the band, maybe he should consider that as his new moniker.

Taylor says he’s not really sure why this beef has arisen, much like the rest of us. He also says he hasn’t fought with the frontman for 15 years.

“This came so far out of left field that I woke up to everyone, like, blowing me up. And I was, like, ‘Really?'” he says.

No doubt Kroeger will respond to this, and then Taylor will respond again, and we’ll be following this back and forth like a never-ending tennis rally.

We can’t wait.
