Unreleased Queens Of The Stone Age Songs Mistakenly Appear On Gordi Vinyl

A number of unreleased Queens Of The Stone Age songs have mistakenly appeared on vinyl copies of the new album from Australian artist Gordi.

Reddit users have raised the internet’s attention to the mix-up — as Pitchfork reports — after posting about how some wax copies of Gordi’s upcoming album Reservoir featured songs from QOTSA’s upcoming album Villains on its B-side.

Villains tracks ‘Fortress’, ‘Head Like a Haunted House’ and ‘Un-Reborn Again’ accidentally made their way onto the Gordi vinyl, which was set for official release on 25th August, the same day as Villains.

“This is a pressing defect that we’re working diligently to resolve as quickly as possible,” a representative from the parent company of Gordi’s label Jagjaguwar told Pitchfork. “It’s not the first time this sort of thing has happened, but we’re all hoping it’s the last.”

Gordi has also released a lighthearted statement about the mix-up, saying, “Obviously I was aware that the Queens of the Stone Age album was coming out the same week as mine and I was aware it would probably garner all the limelight, so the logical solution was to just chuck a bunch of their songs on Reservoir,” she jokes. “I anticipate either people won’t notice or they’ll appreciate the dynamic shift.”

They may have almost accidentally released a collaborative album together, but let’s hope QOTSA and Gordi do actually listen to the universe and collaborate at some point in the near future.
