Foo Fighters Drop Sci-Fi Music Video For New Single ‘The Sky Is A Neighborhood’

Foo Fighters have unleashed an epic Dave Grohl-directed music video for their new single ‘The Sky Is A Neighborhood’, which made its live debut back in May and has now been pulled from their forthcoming album Concrete And Gold.

Grohl says the song, which was recorded in a single afternoon, is “the biggest thing sonically that we’ve ever done”, saying:

“One night I was lying out looking up at stars,” he says. “Just imagining all of these stars as places that have life on them as well, and I decided that the sky is a neighborhood, that we need to keep our shit together in order to survive in this universe full of life.

“But I had no music yet. I just had the title. So everyday I would walk around, kind of humming this thing in my head.”

The track’s music video (below) is packing some serious sci-fi vibes with glowing eyes, levitating children and a bunch of other weird shit. Fooies have also launched a ‘constellation viewer’ on their website, which lets fans listen to the track while turning their phones into tools for exploring the sky in their neighbourhood.

‘The Sky Is A Neighborhood’ is the second single to be lifted from Concrete And Gold, following on from its predecessor, ‘Run’.

The album, which will feature a contribution from Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, is set for release on 15th September. Watch the video for ‘The Sky Is A Neighborhood’, below.
