First Act Confirmed For UNIFY Gathering 2018

UPDATE: The full 2018 UNIFY Gathering lineup has now been announced.

ORIGINAL STORY: The first act has been confirmed for UNIFY Gathering 2018, ahead of tomorrow’s announcement of the festival’s full (and “incredibly special”) lineup.

The news comes courtesy of a cheeky tweet from Unified Music Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, Luke Logemann, who has sneakily spilled the beans during a conversation with Rick Schneider, guitarist for Sydney metalcore crew Polaris.

“Should we have a conversation about how you’re playing UNIFY and see if any news sites post about it?” Logemann asked Schneider.

So, being a news site, we’ve confirmed it with festival organisers and posted about it.

Confirmation of Polaris’ spot on the UNIFY lineup comes after an alleged leak of the 2018 UNIFY Gathering lineup was called out as “fake” by Logemann this morning.

Logemann has also confirmed that Northlane are not on the 2018 UNIFY Gathering lineup, after they performed at the festival earlier this year. The only other act who we know might be on the lineup is Hellions, after a sneaky teaser video dropped last week containing one of their songs.

Earlier this week in a lengthy statement about gender diversity, UNIFY Gathering organisers revealed that five out of the 29 acts on the 2018 UNIFY lineup will contain female members.

The full 2018 UNIFY Gathering lineup is set to be announced at 10am AEST this Thursday, 31st August. Stay tuned to Music Feeds for the lineup as soon as it arrives.
