The 1975 Provide Update On Third Album, Share Song Title

The 1975 have long been teasing their third album Music For Cars but it looks like they’re getting close to completion.

Frontman Matt Healy shared an Instagram post of a playlist with the title Music For Cars and captioned it, “the need to start editing.”

The playlist pictured is over two hours long and you can also see the name of one of the tracks on it which is ‘Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America’. It’s lengthy but that’s hardly surprising given their last album title was 16 words long.

Healy has given a few clues recently about when to expect the band’s highly anticipated third album. As NME report, on stage at Latitude Festival last month the band repeatedly said, “the first of June, the 1975.” Healy also tweeted out the album title followed by, “1st June – The 1975,” last month.

Fans are speculating that the album will be released 1st June 2018.

Healy also gave a clue as to what the new music sounds like writing, “One of our new songs sounds so much like The 1975 lol.” Obviously, that does very little to help us decipher the direcction of the record.

For now, we’ll have to be happy with the album title and a song name.
