If there needed to be any more proof at just how good The xx are, we’ve got it now.
Jamie and co have just pulled off one of the covers of the year, putting their own dark, brooding spin on Justin Timberlake‘s 2006 hit track ‘My Love’ for the BBC Live Lounge.
The cover of this track, originally from JT’s FutureSex/LoveSounds LP, gives the song new life thanks to Jamie and Romy taking turns on verses and the band’s relatively minimal instrumentation.
You may never have imagined you’d hear a Timberlake song sound like this, but you’ll be glad The xx took on the challenge.
It’s been a big day for JT lovers everywhere, with the pop legend also announced as a special guest on the forthcoming Foo Fighters album overnight.
