Watch A Linkin Park Classic Be Transformed By Gordi For ‘Like A Version’

A classic Linkin Park track has been given a lush makeover from Aussie singer-songwriter Gordi for triple j‘s Like A Version covers segment.

Prior to her swelling folktronica cover of the 2000 Hybrid Theory album cut ‘In The End’ — which sounds COMPLETELY different to the original — Gordi explained that hearing the news of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington‘s death in July helped her decide what to cover for Like A Version.

Hybrid Theory was the first record I bought with my own money, and ‘In The End’ was the first song I remember connecting to,” she said.

“It’s such a beautiful song and it’s such a tragedy about Chester… he gave the world such a gift, especially for that album.”

While in the triple j studios, Gordi also performed an acoustic version of her original song ‘On My Side’, from her latest album Reservoir — you know, the one that was accidentally pressed on vinyl with a bunch of unreleased Queens Of The Stone Age songs?
