Sydney Festival Announces 2018 Music Lineup

Sydney’s annual celebration of culture, art, music and big ideas will return again in 2018, with Sydney Festival organisers today revealing the full music lineup for next year’s edition.

The music roster is (as usual) hugely diverse this year, with acts from 13 countries set to feature and a whole bunch of free music to get around.

Leading the lineup this year is Gotye, who’ll present his tribute to French electronic music producer Jean-Jacques Perrey.

Other highlights include experimental electronic artist Jlin; New Zealand gothic folk artist Aldous Harding; Aquasonic, the world’s first underwater band from Denmark; Rhys Chatham’s orchestral work for 100 guitars; and members legendary Aussie rock band The Go-Betweens playing their classic album 16 Lovers Lane with special guests Steve Kilbey of The Church and Izzi Manfredi of The Preatures.

This year’s Sydney Festival has been put together around three key themes: the intersection of art and science, a large look at human consumption and its impact on local communities and how the feminist movement has evolved around the world.

Check out the full 2018 Sydney Festival music lineup below, and the full program at the official website here.
