Paul Kelly Announces ‘Making Gravy’ Concert With Gang Of Youths, Meg Mac & More

Paul Kelly‘s ‘How To Make Gravy’ is an iconic Aussie song, and it’s finally getting its own concert event. (‘Bout time, hey?!)

The Aussie Christmas classic has forever cemented 21st December as ‘Gravy Day’, and even led to a ‘Gravy Man’ parody Twitter account and a #putyourgravyout movement.

To celebrate all things gravy, Kelly will be throwing a ‘Making Gravy’ concert at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on 16th December, supported by the likes of Aussie rockers Gang Of Youths, singer-songwriter Meg Mac and the rising Gretta Ray.

“Gravy’s been around a long, long time,” says Kelly.

“Maybe humans came up with it even before they came up with beer and wine. I don’t know. But I do know Raymond Carver wrote a poem about it. And I like to make it. And it’s different all over the world.

“So, we’d like to usher in Christmas and all things grave and gravilicious with a rich, musical stew. Come on board the gravy train with us and our friends…”

Paul Kelly is also taking his latest album, Life Is Fine, around the country on a huge national tour this November.
