Watch Guns N’ Roses Dedicate An AC/DC Cover To The Late George Young

Guns N’ Roses have paid tribute to late Aussie rock icon and Easybeats guitarist George Young with a cover of a song he co-produced for his older brothers’ band, AC/DC.

Scottish-born Young died earlier this week, and footage has since emerged of Axl Rose and company cover Acca Dacca’s ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ in Hartford, Connecticut on Monday night.

“This next song we’re gonna do this for a friend of ours, and [we] dedicate it to his brother who just passed away,” Rose told the audience.

“So, this is for Angus Young and this is dedicated to George Young, who actually produced this song in the day.”

Guns N’ Roses even tweeted about the tribute to make it extra official:

Following Young’s death earlier this week, AC/DC released a statement saying, “Without his help and guidance there would not have been an AC/DC.”

The ABC’s Rage programme is set to broadcast a special George Young tribute show this weekend, with music from across his career.
